60% Keystone Training Rebate Now Available for Tasmanian Residents
Eligible Tasmanian building and construction businesses can now access a 60% Keystone Tasmania training rebate for three Australian Passivhaus Association training programs:
The rebate covers 60% of the eligible training course fee incurred by the business, making it significantly more affordable for Tasmanian professionals to build their Passivhaus knowledge and capability.
Who is eligible?
The Keystone training rebate is available to businesses within Tasmania’s building and construction industry that meet the relevant eligibility criteria, including eligible sole traders.
Generally, the business must:
Hold a current ABN.
Have building and construction work as its principal business activity.
Organise, pay for or support the participant undertaking the training.
Have eligible participants whose primary residence is in Tasmania.
Eligibility is ultimately assessed by Keystone Tasmania, so we recommend confirming your circumstances with Keystone before relying on the rebate.
How does the rebate work?
Eligible businesses can apply for a Keystone rebate covering 60% of the approved training course fee.
Participants enrol in their chosen Australian Passivhaus Association training program as usual, with the eligible business then applying to Keystone for the rebate.
Applications can be submitted up until the day before the approved training begins.
Rebate payments are made following successful completion of the training. Evidence of successful completion must be provided to Keystone within 60 days of the training finishing.
Can the certification exam be included?
Yes. For the Certified Passivhaus Tradesperson and Certified Passivhaus Designer/Consultant programs, the associated certification exam can be included as part of the 60% Keystone rebate claim.
However, the course and exam must be claimed together.
The exam cannot be claimed separately at a later date if the course has already been claimed on its own. Participants intending to include the certification exam should therefore ensure both the course and exam are included in the same Keystone claim.
CBOS CPD points now approved
Tasmanian residents claiming continuing professional development points through Consumer, Building and Occupational Services (CBOS) can also earn approved CPD points through our Certified Passivhaus training.
Certified Passivhaus Designer/Consultant
The CPHD/C course has been approved for 20 CPD points for the following professions:
Architect
Building Designer
Building Services Designer
Engineer
Certified Passivhaus Tradesperson
The CPHT course has been approved for 12 CPD points for the following licence classes:
Builder
Building Surveyor
Building Services Designer
Passivhaus Fundamentals
Passivhaus Fundamentals also provides CPD points for eligible professionals:
Architects — 7 Formal or 6 Informal CPD points
Builders — 6 CPD points
Engineers — 6 CPD points
These CBOS CPD approvals apply specifically to Tasmanian residents claiming CPD points through the CBOS system.
For eligible Tasmanian building and construction professionals, the combination of a 60% Keystone training rebate and recognised CBOS CPD provides an opportunity to build deeper Passivhaus capability while substantially reducing the cost of training.
