Three simple ways to support International Passivhaus Open Days 2025

The International Passivhaus Open Days (IPOD) are one of the most exciting opportunities to showcase and advocate for what high-performance, healthy, and energy-efficient buildings can truly deliver.

This year, the Passivhaus community across Australia, including many APA members, will open the doors to their Passivhaus projects, a total of 34 projects and 76 sessions, giving visitors a firsthand experience of what it’s like to live and work in a Passivhaus.

As part of the APA member network and the broader Passivhaus community, your voice and involvement are key to helping more Australians discover the value and impact of the Passivhaus Standard.

Here are Three simple but powerful ways you can support and advocate for the Passivhaus Standard during this year’s Open Days:

1- Share and Promote on Social Media

Most of us have Facebook, Instagram and Linkedin so sharing the event online three times is easy - across personal and professional channels.

Simply post about the International Passivhaus Open Days and your involvement, whether you’re hosting, attending, or simply supporting the event.

  1. Share APA’s official tiles, they’re an easy way to amplify the message. Include a few lines about why Passivhaus matters to you and what makes it different.

  2. Tag @AustralianPassivhausAssociation and use hashtags like #PassivhausOpenDays #PassivhausAustralia #BetterBuildings.

IMPACT POTENTIAL - With 3 weeks left and over 1000 members, we estimate this one action will provide over 450,000 extra views of the Open Day tours.




2 - Invite Your Network to Join a Tour

Encourage colleagues, clients, local council staff, community leaders, and friends to attend a nearby International Passivhaus Open Day.

If you’re hosting a project, invite all key people involved in the project to attend and ask them to help promote the site tour.

If you’re part of another organisation, ask them to share the event on social media, newsletters, or forums & Invite their members to attend.




3 - Share the event with a potential client

The Passivhaus movement is rapidly growing in Australia. The following sectors have significant potential for Passivhaus, so please share the event with your clients and contacts in the following sectors:
